Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 8, 2026
Culinary Portfolio (culinaryportfolio.com) is a free set of tools for chefs and culinary students, published by Private Chefs Inc. (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What stays on your device
The portfolio builder, resume builder, bio generator and cover letter generator run in your browser. Your photos, resume text, bio and cover letter are processed on your device and are not uploaded to or stored on our servers. To save your progress, the tools keep your entries in your browser’s local storage. You can clear it at any time with “Start over” or your browser settings.
What we collect
- Email address and name. When you unlock a portfolio or resume PDF, we collect the email you enter and the name typed in the tool, plus which tool you used and the date.
- Email status. Whether you confirmed your email or unsubscribed, and when.
- Ratings and usage counts. If you rate a PDF, we store the star rating. We count how many PDFs are created, without linking the count to you.
- Technical data. To prevent abuse, we store a one-way hashed version of your IP address, not the address itself. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or analytics cookies on this site.
How we use it
- To send a one-time email asking you to confirm your address.
- After you confirm, to send a welcome email with the free tools and occasional chef career tips, tool updates and information about private chef opportunities from Private Chefs Inc.
- To keep the tools working, prevent abuse and improve them.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also write to pci@privatechefsinc.com.
- Access or deletion. Email pci@privatechefsinc.com to ask what we hold about you or to have it deleted. We respond within 45 days.
- Do Not Track. We do not track you across websites, so we treat all visitors the same whether or not a Do Not Track signal is sent.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with service providers that run the site and send email on our behalf (web hosting and email delivery), under obligations to protect it, or when required by law.
California residents
If you live in California, you can ask us to disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you will not be treated differently for making a request. The categories we collect are identifiers (email address, name, hashed IP address) and internet activity related to the tools (which tool you used, ratings). We collect them from you directly, use them for the purposes listed above, keep them as described below, and do not sell or share them. Under California’s “Shine the Light” law, you may also ask whether we disclosed personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes; we do not. Send requests to pci@privatechefsinc.com.
Retention and security
We keep your email and related data while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address and unsubscribe status so we never email you again. You can ask us to delete your data at any time. Data is stored with our hosting provider, with access restricted to authorized staff.
Children
The tools are intended for adults and culinary students aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. Material changes will be announced on this page.
